As you are no doubt aware, DJI is no stranger to innovation. This applies to their consumer drones but more particularly to their range of amazing commercial offerings. The DJI Matrice 30 Enterprise drone is the most recent example. As you would expect from DJI the cameras and other specs are impressive.
The DJI Matrice 30 Series drone fears no weather conditions. Environmental factors often hinder drone operations. Not so with the formidable Matrice 30. As DJI says “heavy rain, high winds, high altitudes, even in icy and snowy conditions from -20 °C to 50 °C” are no concern for this tough device.
DJI has built a powerful robust drone while still allowing it to be compact and portable. They have improved the mechanics of the foldable system making it faster and easier to deploy. It has a top speed of 23 m/s, 41-minutes of flight time and a 1920x1080 FPV camera with 161° DFOV which improves the effectiveness and versatility of this industrial drone.
Obstacle avoidance is exceptional with six-ways sensors. It boasts ToF sensors and dual-vision for mission safety. Another safety feature that will help if there is a propellor or motor failure is a 3-propeller landing feature.
Despite the power, strength, and weatherproofing of the DJI Matrice 30, it weighs a mere 8.2 pounds. It uses an improved foldable design based on the popular Mavic. It can be transported easily in a compact rolling case or backpack. The arms are self-locking, and it takes very little time to get in the air.
The most important aspect is the IP55 protection. This is what allows it to operate effectively in conditions that would cause most drones to flounder. It also has the power and strength to handle extreme conditions.
The enhanced transmission ensures perfect communication even under severe weather conditions. It has 4 integrated antennas that use OcuSync 3 Enterprise. The video transmission is at 1080p with triple channel capabilities.
This gives the industrial drone near-perfect capabilities in even the most complex situations.
DJI Flight Hub 2
The DJI Pilot 2 is an upgraded interface designed for safety and accuracy during enterprise use. One tap is all that is needed to control payloads. The presentation is crisp and clear for a great user experience. This leads to more accurate operations and navigation.
The mission live streaming makes it possible for multiple users to operate in real-time simultaneously, even on multiple drones. The high-resolution and low latency improves results.
Matrice 30 & Matrice 30T
The Matrice 30 Series is available in two models: the Matrice 30, and the Matrice 30T, and DJI offers multiple combos you can purchase now.
Matrice 30 Camera
The Matrice 30 has a dual sensor camera. The wide camera has a 12MP ½” CMOS sensor with a 24mm lens and shoots 4K/30fps video. The second camera has a 48MP ½” CMOS sensor with a 5x-16x optical zoom and a 200x hybrid zoom (113-405mm equivalent) and shoots 4K/30fps video. The camera also has a laser rangefinder with an impressive range of 4000 ft.
Matrice 30T Camera
The Matrice 30T is a triple sensor camera. In addition to the 12MP wide and 48MP zoom cameras found on the Matrice 30, it adds a 40mm 640x512 thermal imaging camera with ±2°C or ±2% accuracy. The Matrice 30T and Matrice 30 features the laser rangefinder.
DJI Dock
To further enhance performance and operations it has a robotic docking system. The DJI Dock allows for autonomous flying. The dock has an integrated weather station and surveillance cameras. It has antennas and can be controlled over 4G. It will charge the system in 25 minutes.
Final thoughts
The DJI Matrice 30 Enterprise Drone is yet another spectacular development that will drive the effectiveness and benefits of commercial drones. It is affordable, powerful, and can handle all but the worst of what mother nature throws in the way.
