The Powerful New DJI Night Vision Zenmuse H20N

DJI Zenmuse H20N on a Matrice 300 RTK

A commercial or industrial drone is only as good as the camera it carries. We have spoken about the phenomenal Matrice 30 Series Enterprise Drone that was recently released by DJI. What is also impressive it the DJI Zenmuse H20N Gimbal and Camera. Without these, the performance and abilities of the drone would be pointless.

The H in H20N is for its hybrid functionality. The N indicates it has night vision. This is just part of what makes this such a powerful and versatile camera.

It has starlight sensors in the wide-angle camera as well as the zoom. It also boasts a laser range finder as well as thermal cameras. The combination of these technologies gives you access to a range of applications that would not be possible on a lesser camera. It has excellent low-light performance.

The infrared zoom delivers 2x and 8x zoom giving you up to 32x zoom. You can identify hotspots quickly and zoom in for a detailed inspection.

The laser rangefinder is impressive with a range of 3 to 1200 m and an accuracy of ± (0.2 m + D×0.15%). This distance and precision will improve the speed and results of inspections and other applications.

Another handy feature is the Synchronized Split-screen Zoom. This allows you to sync and scale the starlight and thermal images at the same time. That means you can compare the details in real-time and this improves efficiency.

It has an integrated seamless user interface. You can alternate instantly between zoom and wide view or watch the zoom FOV while you are in thermal or wide view.

Here is a breakdown of some of the main specifications (full specs):

· 640×512 Dual Thermal Cameras

· Intelligent Night Scene Enhancement

· 2×, 8× Optical Zoom

· 20× Hybrid Optical Zoom

· Laser Rangefinder with a max range of 1200 m

· Synchronized Split-screen Zoom

· IP44 Rating

· Operating Temperature range -20°C to 50°C

The last 2 specs are important and what allows it to operate in extreme conditions. It can handle rain, snow, and other weather conditions. Often with other cameras, if the rain is heavy or temperatures too high or low, you would have to pause your operation until conditions are better.

With the H20N you will have less downtime and increased productivity. This is important for mission-critical response or where support and crew costs add up quickly if they are not active.

Other intelligent features include:

· High-Res Grid Photo

· One-tap Panorama

The H20N also has a range of thermal features including:

· Color Palettes

· Isotherms

· Gain Modes

· R-JPEG Images

· Temperature Alarm

The multi-sensor payload will give you more flexibility as well as increased speed and accuracy. Best of all, you can use it effectively in low-light conditions and safely in poor weather. This will make your missions faster, safer, and more accurate. You will have less downtime and greater productivity.
